Installation

Requirements, installing the arcm command and checking that it works.

Requirements

  • Node.js 22.12 or newer. Check with node -v.
  • npm, pnpm, bun or yarn. npm comes with Node.js.

Install the command

Use this to run arcm from any folder:

npm install -g arcmoon
pnpm add -g arcmoon
bun add -g arcmoon
yarn global add arcmoon

arcm and arcmoon are the same command.

Install in one project

Use this to keep the version with the project, so everyone who works on it builds with the same one:

npm install arcmoon
pnpm add arcmoon
bun add arcmoon
yarn add arcmoon

Then run it with npx arcm, or from a script in package.json:

package.json
{
  "scripts": {
    "build": "arcm build pages"
  }
}

Check that it works

arcm -v
1.1.0

Then build a one-line page and print it:

echo "[p]Hello[end]" > hello.arcm
arcm build hello.arcm -p
<p>Hello</p>

Update

npm install -g arcmoon@latest   # the command
npm install arcmoon@latest      # in a project

Editor support

Install ArcMoon Language for VS Code: highlighting, errors and completion in .arcm files.
